Fellowship of the Transfiguration

The Fellowship of the Transfiguration seeks to provide some shape and structure for the very special community of alumni, friends and supporters of the College of the Transfiguration. It will help to maintain and build connections, with members being organised in diocesan branches. Our hope is that through the Fellowship of the Transfiguration, alumni, friends and supporters will contribute to the life and ministry of the College through regular prayer, by visiting the College to offer teaching, to preside or preach in the Chapel, or simply to connect or re-connect. Additionally, members of the Fellowship will play a vital role in organising events in their local contexts, identifying volunteer support that can assist with meeting College needs, and by giving financially to enable the College to continue informing, forming, and transforming ministers to serve God’s mission in our world today.

Aims

  • To strengthen relationships with former students and other friends and supporters
  • To provide support and on-going ministerial education and formation for former students and others
  • To act as a focus and enabler for former students and other supporters to contribute to the life of the College

Ethos

  • An organizational structure combining some central administration with a local presence organised in diocesan branches, each facilitated by a co-ordinator chosen by themselves. These branches would be able to plan their own programme, and match activities to local needs.
  • Diocesan branches would be encouraged to come forward with needs to which the College would try to respond. The College would engage with these branches through in-person and online activities, whether organised in diocesan branches, regional gatherings of diocesan branches, or in Makhanda.
